New Leeds office for Generis Risk Solutions

Generis Risk Solutions (GRS) has recently moved into an office in Leeds – at the Headrow building. We got the keys on 1st November.

It’s hard to believe that in less than a year since the GRS division of Generis Underwriting Limited started trading, we’ve hit such a significant milestone. This move marks a huge step forward for our team, and we couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead.

It’s fantastic to have a physical presence in Leeds, and being in the heart of the city brings us even closer to many of our broker partners. This new proximity will make collaboration more seamless, strengthen our relationships, and create new opportunities for growth as we continue to work closely together.

We’re confident that this move will not only enhance our presence in the market but also help us attract top talent as we gear up for recruitment next year.

To everyone who has been part of this journey so far—thank you! We can’t wait to see what the next chapter holds.

Oliver Knight joins team

We’re delighted to announce that Oliver Knight has joined Generis. Our business continues to thrive, and Ollie’s +10 years’ experience will help fuel even more growth in two of our target sectors.

Ollie joins us as a Senior Underwriter for Technology & Life Sciences, bringing significant experience in both fields. He previously held Regional Manager and Senior Underwriting roles during his seven years at CNA Hardy – most recently as Life Sciences Manager. Prior to CNA he served three years in the Technology team at Chubb.

We’re looking forward to Ollie meeting our broker partners.

MGA partnership – with global insurer Sompo

Generis is delighted to announce a new MGA partnership – with global insurer Sompo. A big thank you to Joe Brown and the team at Sompo.

The agreement will enable us to expand our appetite and offer increased limits for our Professions PI and Technology sector specialisms. These are major growth areas for us and offer great opportunities to work closely with regional brokers to target business.

Celebrating our first five years

Today marks the 5th anniversary since we picked up our first policy at Generis. We have achieved a lot over those 5 years and we would like to thank the many people who have been instrumental in bringing us to where we are today.

We look forward to reaching more milestones in this next Phase for Generis.

Robert Messruther joins Generis

We are delighted to announce another key underwriting appointment at Generis.

Following the appointment of Ken Phillips in November, we have now appointed Robert Messruther as Senior Underwriter in our Generis Risk Solutions division, specialising in writing package solutions for Technology, Professions & Consultants businesses. For the last 3 years Rob was previously at the helm of Hiscox York’s broker business and now returns to his underwriting roots.

Chris Thompson joins Generis

We have made another significant underwriting appointment at Generis.

Chris Thompson joins us as Lead Underwriter for Life Sciences & Healthcare. Chris was Head of Life Science for CNA Hardy for the last 8 years and a Senior Life Science Underwriter at Chubb for 7 years prior. His experience and expertise will benefit not just our specialist sector but our whole business.
